The staff of the Family Tree PI have been researching family trees and assembling family histories for nearly thrity years. Our professional genealogists will help you find your ancestors then identify, analyze and document the events and context of their lives.

Even the best family historian can run into difficulties with genealogy research. An expert genealogist may be your best option for producing a complete and accurate family tree.

Most clients realize the most value from our services when they rely on our experience, expertise and resources to supplement their own efforts. While the Internet can be an excellent starting point for genealogy research, often additional resources are needed.

Each engagement is planned, executed and documented consistent with the specific goals and interests of our client. we jointly design each engagement to clearly identify the scope, goals, activities and roles of both the client and Family Tree P.I. including milestones for communicating status/results, confirming next steps or determining future direction

Applying research, analysis and evaluation techniques developed over the past twenty-five (25) years we have successfully conducted research in the United States, Canada, and Europe. We access a variety of domestic and international information sources in the private, government, religious sectors augmented by physical research if needed.

Where to start?  Try an Introductory Search:

An Introductory Genealogy Search is the recommended initial research project conducted on behalf of a client for a fixed fee. It includes review of all available client supplied information and documents, client goals, analysis of the problem, a survey of published sources, and 10 hours of actual research.

The report will summarize the research, indicate what was found, and give suggestions for further research. The report will include research notes, positive and negative findings, and identification of all sources used. It may also include photocopies of various records.

Depending on the available records and specific research goal(s), this survey may produce a considerable or modest amount of information. Examining these records and sources already checked with no positive results, may enable the researcher to find clues for further research.

Record sources used in your genealogy research may include but are not limited to:
